I left home a bit of late (5:20 am) so I went straight to Old Rag and got there 6:45 am, started at Old Rag parking at 6:55 am: from Ridge trail, Saddle Trail (arrived at Old Rag shelter around 10:30 am), Old Rag Fire Road, Robertson Moutain Trail, Weakely Hollow Fire Road, and finaly returned to the parking lot at 2:30 pm.

Swamy - The most Strenuous Hike I did recently was "Robertson Mountain Plus Stony Man Mountain 18 miles hike" on February 16 with The Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group (http://www.midatlantichiking.com/events/89385992/).
This one is certainly more challenge but I can see there are multiple bailout points. I'm on up to 2.7 miles/hr pace but not 3.0 miles/hr. I'd start early like 5:00 am from Old Rag Parking (not Centreville Parking) for a few reasons - 1. Old Rag parking could be full quickly in this time of the season and at this weekend if we arrive there at the "normal hours". 2. Starting early allows you to enjoy the early morning at the Old Rag summits that always appears at the most beautiful moment when early morning sun ray on the valley and rocks. 3. Allows us more time to finish the entire route comfortably before sunset. Anyway, if I decide to go, I'll only start early. Thanks.

Hi Jin, 3 mph was pretty ambitious the last time. We averaged less than 2mph. Anyways, I am having car trouble and need to be back early so I am changing this to 2 peaks. Can't do 2 am though. I will be at work late till close to midnight. thanks,

How is the route? I suggest that we meet at 2:00 am in Centreville P&R to start a night hike on Old Rag by 3:45 am from Old Rag Parking Lot. Watch the sunrise at 6:45 am at the Old Rag summit. Come down from Old Rag, by 8:00 am we are at the trailhead of the Robertson on Weakley Hollow Fire Road. Go up Robertson, and then come down to Old Rag Fire Road and turn right towards Skyline drive, Across Skyline and hike Little Stony Man Mountain and Stony Man Mountain. After that we either go AT south to Hawksbill, or we go AT north/Skyline to Pinnacle Overlook, from there we go down to Hannah Run Trail, Finally on Nicholson Hollow Trail to return the Old Rag Parking Lot.

Not this year. Did get any interest, so I am not leading it this year. I will try to get more clients for the next year
