We may set up our tents after 1 pm Friday and must have be packed up before 11:30 on Monday. I've been told parking will not be a problem, however, I do not know how close it is to the campsite.
FOOD: FOOD MUST BE IN CLOSED CONTAINERS STORED IN YOUR VEHICLE. Meals, snacks, liquids etc are each hiker’s responsibility, however, if interested we can do group dinners.
DRIVING TO FROM CAMPGROUNDS: Campsite is 2.5 hours from beltway just off I-64 between Charlottesville, VA and Shenandoah National Park. If you can offer or need a ride post specifics - general location to carpool, time you will leave & return. Passengers give your driver $15.
DRIVING WHILE CAMPING: Passengers give your driver $.08 per mile.
SAFETY When hiking, I carry my phone, driver’s license, medical insurance card, credit card, cash, headlamp & whistle.
HIKING SHOES OR BOOTS are important.
HIKING POLES are helpful. My favorite are Black Diamond.
WATER ALWAYS bring more than you think you need.
SNACKS It's important to have healthy snacks to munch as you hike.
