Hike at Indiana Dunes State Park

The Indiana Dunes State Park has some good terrain not far from the city. This 10 mile walk at a brisk pace will be on both dirt and sand paths. There will be some hills. Near the end of the walk we will visit the beach and then climb Mount Tom (192 feet above lake level).

Bring something to drink and a snack.
We will meet in the parking lot outside the nature center. There is directional signage within the park for the nature center. There is also a trail map in the Files section of this website.

Please read the Waiver in the Files section. By attending this hike you and your guests agree to the terms and conditions of this waiver.

I did just see Zak's comment about pubtrans and will check it out, but of course would still prefer a rid rather than a hike to the hike. :-)

Yes, dogs are allowed on this walk. Park regulations require dogs to be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
