This is a beautiful hike on rolling hills through pine plantations, prairies and southern hardwood forests in Wisconsin's Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
We'll hike about 10 miles with many options to shorten. The trails are very well-marked, so everyone can hike at their own pace. I'm a fairly slow hiker, so I'll be towards the back.
Afterward, we'll have a late lunch at the LaGrange General Store.

Sorry I was too late and missed the group. Hiked the trail anyway-in the rain-but it was still great. Thanks Linda for getting me out there.
Thanks for leading the hike, Linda!

I hope you guys managed to avoid the big storm. Also, I found a deer tick on my thigh so inspect your clothes carefully.

I'm driving from Chicago's north side (Edgewater), and happy to give anyone a ride there.

Could I get a ride with you Orey? I live in Evanston so I can get down to Edgewater on the L pretty easily and meet you somewhere.
I'll come pick you up...we're going north anyway. How about if you give me an intersection and we can meet there at 9:15.
Would Chicago and Main be OK?
0 · June 20, 2014
Yes, I actually know where that is! How about the SW corner at 9:15. I have a lavender (blue) Camry with a kayak rack on top. We'll be taking Tareq as well.
Sounds good! See you then!
Orey, is there any chance I could also join you in Evanston? Either way, I want to warn you that the Custer Fair is going on tomorrow and Chicago will be closed up to Main St. So you might want to pick another block to meet, such as Dempster.
Yeah I just walked past Main and Chicago and they have already blocked off the intersection. I agree with switching to Chicago and Dempster to meet up.
Okay Laura and Steve, we'll meet at the SW corner of Chicago and Dempster at 9:15.
Thanks so much! I look forward to meeting all of you.
Sounds great, thanks!
If anyone needs a ride from Southwestern suburbs along I-355, my boyfriend and I will be leaving before 9am and can share a ride. You may need a ride back though since we plan to explore and possibly stay overnight.

Dang, this Saturday is already booked! Have a wonderful time, there is some beautiful hiking there!
Camping there this weekend. Glad to join you. Great timing.

I'd be interested in carpooling if possible. I live in South Evanston, but near both a Metra and L stop so I can easily get to somewhere more convenient to meet up. If more drivers are needed I could get a Zipcar for the day.
I'll be there camping so perfect time to join you guys!
