This hike will cover the 9.5 mile loop that surrounds Argonne National Laboratory in southern DuPage County (Darien) and is part of the County's Forest Preserve System. It’s an easy trail of crushed limestone but there are no real shortcuts on the loop.

Directions: From Chicago city take I-55 west (signage may read south but you will be heading southwest) past both 294 and 83 (Kingery Highway) to Cass Avenue. Take Cass Avenue south to Northgate Road (I think it’s the 2nd right), right on Northgate and then 400 feet to the parking lot. We’ll meet at one of the picnic tables between the trailhead sign and the restrooms.
We will meet at 11:30. Bring water and a snack for the trail.
