MN Rovers Weekly Program: Save the Pow-Wow Trail

Please remember t0 RSVP YES only.  'NO' RSVPs flood our inboxes with unnecessary messages and are not required unless you change your mind. Thanks, your organizer team

We welcome you to join us at the weekly meeting of the Minnesota Rovers Outdoors Club, the creators of the Border Route Trail.

Join others like you on a virtual trip of the BWCA wilderness hiking trails. Martin Kubik will talk about the less know side of our unique wilderness area: its 200 miles of hiking and backpacking trails. He will focus on how volunteers are working with the USFS to bring back the 30-mile Pow Wow Trail burned in the Pagami Creek Fire. Listen to a volunteer's vision of what can be done to bring back this magnificent trail.

Link to Campus Map showing Olin-Rice Science Hall, Bldg 13.

Socializing takes place afterward at Billy's on Grand (1.6 miles east of Macalester on Grand Avenue and Victoria Street) We meet in the Cafe, a separate room with a bar and pool tables. Ask the staff to point you to it.

Approximately 45 people attended. Martin gave a very entertaining and well received presentation on the state of the Pow-Wow Trail. If you missed it, check out his presentation at the Midwest Mountaineering Spring Expo the last weekend in April.

Hi there fellow hikers. It's always fun to meet new people who enjoy being outdoors so I'm glad to join the group. Spring woodland wildflowers are amazing--maybe I can join a hike with some of you to see them.
