Introduction to Snowshoeing: MN Rovers Weekly Program

We welcome you to join us at the weekly meeting of the Minnesota Rovers Outdoors Club. This is a lecture style presentation. It's also a great opportunity to meet members of an outdoors activity club -- a source of future snowshoe outings, activity partners, and even gear for club members!

What started thousands of years ago as a mode of transportation has evolved into a hot trend in winter sports that anyone can do. Inexpensive and easy to learn, snowshoeing offers an invigorating cardio workout for people all ages and fitness levels. Come and learn more about it. Presented by Barry S.

Socializing takes place afterward at Billy's on Grand (1.6 miles east of Macalester on Grand Avenue and Victoria Street) We meet in the Cafe, a separate room with a bar and pool tables. Ask the staff to point you to it.

Do we need snowshoes for this event, or can we just watch and enjoy? I 've never snowshoed before, so I'd like to learn more about it before purchasing shoes.

    Thanks!

Hi Jerad, I just updated the meetup. This is a lecture, no snowshoes needed.

    Hey everyone,
I just want to make sure everyone's aware that this is a lecture style presentation. It's also a great opportunity to meet members of an outdoors activity club -- a source of future snowshoe outings, activity partners, and even gear!

    Thanks.

So, At the risk of sounding less than intelligent, is this about snowshoeing, adventure acing, or both?

Bill, the Rovers host a program every week. Last night was Adventure Racing. 12/11 will be about snowshoeing.
