Lebanon Hills - Last hike of the year???

A quick hike to explore the trails in the winter weather.  At this time, we are unaware of what the trail conditions will be like on Saturday, use your best judgement in determining if you are comfortable/capable of hiking on possibly icy and slippery trails.

  • Route: Unpaved trails.  Exact route dependent on trail conditions

    Length: Approx. 3 - 5 miles

    Duration: Approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

    Surface: *CAUTION! Possibly wet, icy, snow covered and slippery! Grasses, soil, occasionally gravel/small rocks.

    Conditions: Some elevation changes.

    Difficulty:  Moderate  *Please FIRST check with your doctor (BEFORE RSVP'ing "YES") if you are concerned about your physical capabilities/limitations.


    Hike Time: Meetup outside the Visitor's center at or before 11:00 A.M.. We will start hiking right at 11:00 Am

    Scenery: Woods, lakes, snow, tourists.

    Amenities: Free parking in the park, no sticker required.

    Weather: At this time, looks to be about the 20's.

    Recommended:  Wear comfortable hiking foot gear with good traction (consider bringing snowshoes, yaktracks or stablicers), water, snack, clothing appropriate for the chilly/wet weather and activity level.

    Please, No Kids, No Dogs, No +1's: Only registered members of Twin Cities Hiking Meetup may attend this hike.

    Exactly how does a hike become "full"? It is a regional park after all.

      You are right Tyler - the park is open to anyone who wants to come out and hike/ski/sled, etc. This hike was limited to 12 people and after 12 people signed up, the hike was "full". People were welcome to still go out to the park, hike on their own, with friends, or schedule their own meet-up hike.

    lasted a bit more than 2 hours, we went 4.8 miles. Weather was great, cold but not windy, good group of people, nice pace, not too fast, not too slow
