Join us for a great loop hike to beautiful Serrano Valley in Pt. Mugu State Park in Malibu. It is quite scenic and should still be green this time of year. It should be a great day for hiking - sunny and a comfortable 70 F or so.
There are no steep inclines on this hike and we'll keep a moderate pace. There will be some uphill though and due to the distance I'd consider it an intermediate level hike. If you are unsure if this is something you are ready for, please contact me (Stein).
We will meet in the oval parking lot on the left just past the gate of the Sycamore entrance of Pt. Mugu State Park. There will be trees in the middle and we'll be across from the bathrooms (see photo). We'll meet at about 10:45 AM, do some stretching and introductions etc. and get started at 11:00 AM sharp.
We'll start heading up the Sycamore fire road and for about 3.5 miles and then we'll head up a trail that takes us to Serrano Valley. We'll stop for a lunch break while enjoying the views before heading back a different way through Serrano Canyon.
About 9.5 miles.
I expect about 4 hours or so.

Parking in the lot is $12. There is also a lot on the other side of the highway. If you park along the highway, make sure you watch the signs. I believe there is no parking allowed any more near the entrance in order boost park revenues.
It is inconsiderate to the organizer and anyone on the waiting list to RSVP and not show up, therefore I am registering no-shows. For this event you need to change your RSVP to "No" minimum 1 hour before the start of the event. If you have multiple no-shows on your record you may not be admitted to events where there are people on the waiting list.
