Griffith Park 9 Peaks - a Trail Runner Version

  • This location is shown only to members

  • On this special occasion near the end of the season, I call upon all trail runners to come home.

Come home to Griffith Park.  Let's pay tribute to the 9 Peaks that are our backbone and share with all your exploits.

Griffith Park was where Lee and Barry led the first hike in 2006. In our heart and mind, it has always been a very special place. The mountains and peaks of Griffith Park are like our home away from home.

Looking back 2013, our members have been busy. They have visited many exotic locations throughout California, Arizona and all over the world.

As the season winds down, it is time for us to reflect upon where it all started: the long ascent of Beacon Hill, beautiful vista of Glendale Peak, panoramic view of Mt Hollywood, killer incline of Mt. Bell and Mt. Chapel, Hollywood sign at Mt. Lee, the imposing Cahuenga Peak, Lone Tree at Burbank Peak, and giant boulders at Bee Rock.

This event is only for trail runners. If you do not intend to run, please join hiker's version of this event.

    Warning:

If you have prior medical condition or a family history of illnesses pertaining to heart, lungs, brain, etc. that can be aggravated by heat and physical exertion, this is not the hike for you.

If you have never done a hike of this distance or difficulty before, this hike will be very difficult for you. It may well be your death march. The mountain is not going anywhere. We will schedule this event again in the future. Do it when your mind and body are ready.
