The Los Angeles Hiking Group Message Board › About the Bridge to No Where hike this Saturday

If the weather persists through the weekend, we are going to have perfect weather for this hike.
I want to stress one more time that this is a 10 miler. After we cross the 1/2 mile mark, we will hike wet in the creek for 3 miles. Under your feet are river rocks, big and small, slippery and submerged. The water level will be as high as 40" at some spots.
It is much more difficult to hike among river rocks than hiking on trail, but that is also the fun part of this hike. We will see hikers nearby hiking the regular trail and you will likely conclude that we are much cooler than they are in more than one ways.
With this picture in mind, if you are not able to sustain a 10 mile hike, you could be stuck in the middle of a shaded creek soaking wet and way behind the group. On the other hand, if you could, the reward is hard to describe with words.
If you are bring guests, it is your responsibility to tell them what to expect on this hike so that all the participants are properly informed. If your guests are not able to complete a 10 mile hike, it is a long way to carry someone back to the parking lot.
