Dave and Kathy will lead a hike from the Santa Fe Ski Area up to Nambe Lake. The trail starts at the ski area and follows the Winsor to the Nambe Lake spur on the right. This is a strenuous hike due to some steep inclines as well as high elevation. We start at 10,400 feet at the trail head and end at 11,400 feet at the lake itself. The hike will take approximately 5 hours to complete and is 8 miles roundtrip.
Completion of a similarly strenuous hike in the past month is a requirement for attending.
The drive up will take 1.5 hours.
This is one of our favorite hikes in Santa Fe. You follow the Nambe River the last 1.5 miles and will need to cross it. Hiking poles are handy for this. Also, bring clothes for layering (see elevation), lunch or a snack, and plenty of water.
Please be at Lowes BEFORE 7:00, as we'll decide car pooling and leave at 7:00.
Sorry, but no dogs this hike.
