This hike up Raven's Ridge to Deception Peak is the shortest route from Santa Fe to reach the tundra above tree line, offering stunning views, beautiful Alpine flowers and additional trails.

Trail starts from the Santa Fe ski area, consisting of a loop from Deception Peak to Lake Peak, across Penitente Peak and joining the Winsor back to the trail head.

Bring plenty of water, snacks/lunch, clothes for layering and rain gear. Right now there isn't rain in the forecast, but this is the mountains during the monsoon season.

Distance: 11 miles

RT Time: 7-8 hours

Elevation Gain: 10,250-12,409 feet (total gain 3100 feet)

Rating: Strenuous

Sorry, no dogs on this hike.

When you sign up, you'll be asked about similar hikes you've completed recently, before you'll be added to the reservation list. Since this is a loop, we'll need to complete the circuit as a group in a timely manner.

We'll plan to stop in Santa Fe for dinner before we drive back to ABQ.
