Celebrate DST - Extended Copper Loop

Evening hikes are back!!  Sunset at 7:09, nautical twilight at 8:04 pm and a nice moon in the sky.  We could easily hike for 2+ hours if we want.

We'll hike a large loop but those seeking a shorter trek can drop off as we pass U-Mound and head back to the cars.

Because it's the first evening of the new year, I am keeping it in the non-wilderness area and not putting a limit on the group size.  If we have more than 20 I will not make any attempt to keep track of everyone.  We'll be in sight of the city at all times except for passing behind a few low hills and it will be easy to head back if you get separated.

A beer on the patio at O'Neills if the weather is decent afterward (optional of course).

I would love to attend this but I am in Albuquerque with no car. I'm doing some traveling and I arrived last night and I'll be here until the 26th so I would to meet up with hikers and see some of Albuquerque's wildlife.

If you post a message with the part of town you are in, someone can probably pick you up on their way. You should also let them know if you plan to go to O'Neill's after the hike. I live close the trail so it's not likely that you would be on my way.

This will be my first meetup hike, so I'm not sure what to expect. Do we just show up and lookf or the crowd?

Does anyone want to carpool from the Alameda Open Space parking lot? I'll drive.

    May I bring a well-behaved dog on a leash?

I wanted to know if dogs are allowed on the hike tonight? I have a 9-month old Papillion mix that loves to hike, scramble over rocks, and sit at my feet at bars.

I may not be out of work in time. I'll text you Keith and see if you ended up getting a beer somewhere.

My phone doesn't work. I'll go to O'Neill's on JT after the hike. Probably get there about 8pm.

With a high of 70 forecast for Monday we can probably sit out on the patio at O'Neills on Juan Tabo and have a beer and/or food after hiking.
