BMDM La Luz Timed Training

I am training for the Bataan Memorial Death March. This will be one of my training runs. My goal will be to run five miles up the La Luz Trail to the metal plate, turn around and run back down in a about three hours. However, how quickly I can do this depends on conditions, so I'm making the end time be 10:30 (three and a half hours).

This is a timed event. If you want to jog along with me, I'll enjoy the company. If you just want to meet before and after, that's fine, too.

This will be my fourth year entering BMDM. If you're new to the event and have questions, ask me.

I wore my microspikes all the way up, but they were only needed in about the last mile. The weather was a little chilly and windy, but otherwise nice. Brian hung with me. John and Dorca went at their own paces. It was nice to meet everyone.

Here's the data from my Garmin:

I wasn't able to push myself as hard as I'd have liked; my feet were a little sore and my legs were also complaining some, but I believe this was good enough for me to meet my BMDM goal this year.

If anyone is interested to carpool to the TH, I will stop at the beginning of FR 333 at 6:45 (just outside the fee area).
