Afternoon Hike: Piedra Lisa Trail - Workout/Hike At Your Own Pace

Departure Time: 1:00pm, please be prompt because we will leave at 1:05pm for the trailhead.

Cost: $3.00/vehicle (unless you have a Sandia Mountain Parking Pass) Caution: The road to the trailhead is going to be muddy.  Hikers that sign up and have a passenger vehicle are more than welcome to ride with me.

Who Should Attend: Beginners to Advanced Hikers. This is a great workout hike!

Hike Description: Piedra Lisa is rated as a moderate hike.  We will be hiking up the south side of the trail.  From the Piedra Lisa parking lot it is 0.4 miles to the trailhead and it is about 2 miles to the top with approximately 2,000ft. of elevation gain for a total of 2.4 miles (one way).

The Piedra Lisa Trail is very easy to follow except for finding it in the first place. That being the case, people will be allowed to go at their own pace rather than in a large group. We will determine the turnaround time once we get to the trailhead.

Note: Since people are hiking at their own pace, you may find yourself hiking by yourself at times.

Trail Conditions: Because of the recent snowfall, the trail will be icy and snowy.  Please be prepared.

What to Bring:

Required: Traction devices for your boots.

Weather: If inclement weather looks imminent, please check this site 30 minutes prior to 12:45pm.

Dogs: Allowed, as long as they are leashed the entire time.

I will be at the Trail head also if you do not see me at the arena.

Stopping at the bank on the way which means I could be early, on time or late. Well, probably not late. I tend to run early. If late I'll head straight for the trail head.
