The weather forecast for next weekend is looking pretty good for a Saturday in February, so we'll plan on taking a road trip to southeastern Indiana. The trails at this state park are moderate with a couple of steep inclines, and we'll be doing around six miles.
Admission to the park is $5.
We'll be meeting at the large circular parking lot near Oak Grove shelter at the northern part of trail 1 in the center of the park. A map of the park is located here at the Department of Natural Resources website for Versailles S.P.
As usual, our car pool will be meeting at the west side of Broad Ripple High School (1115 Broad Ripple Avenue) in the free parking spots along Compton Street just south of Broad Ripple Avenue (this is not a parking lot--we park on the street and usually gather on the sidewalk under the tree near the cement bench). We'll be leaving at 12pm. The best places to park are directly beside the high school between Broad Ripple Avenue and 62nd Street. Please be on time and arrive ready to go.
For our after-hike dinner, we'll be going to the Power House Brewery in Columbus, IN.
Car pool @ 12pm
Hike @ 2pm
Length: 6 miles, around 2 1/2 hours
See you on Saturday,
