Back by popular demand, and for good reason, Clifty Falls is one of the best hiking spots in Indiana and is worth the long road trip south. For this hike (on the Vernal Equinox), we'll be putting in about five hours on the trails and the park consists of mainly rugged trails, so be ready for a workout.
Our after-hike dinner will be taking place at the inn on the grounds of the park. It's a buffet-style restaurant with chicken, fish, and a salad bar.
Car pool info: Our usual north-side car pool will be meeting along the west side of Broad Ripple High School (1115 Broad Ripple Avenue) in the free parking spots along Compton Street just south of Broad Ripple Avenue. The best places to park are directly beside the high school between Broad Ripple Avenue and 62nd Street. These spots are free on Saturdays and are usually wide open when we meet for the car pool. We'll be leaving at 11am on Saturday.
For anyone who would prefer to meet us at the park, we'll meet at the Clifty Inn parking lot at around 1:30pm.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources web page for Clifty Falls is located here, and a map of the park can be found on the page. Just click "Property Map" under "Maps."
