As long as the weather forecast for next weekend doesn't drastically change, we'll be making a road trip to this state park in southeastern Indiana. The terrain here is mainly pretty moderate with a few steep sections. We'll plan to cover around 6 miles for this event and do about 2 1/2 or 3 hours on the trails today. Please be sure to layer yourself up, and bringing along some gloves and something to cover your ears would be an excellent plan.
Admission to the park is $5.
We'll be meeting at the large circular parking lot near Oak Grove shelter at the northern part of trail 1 in the center of the park. A map of the park is located here at the Department of Natural Resources website for Versailles S.P.
Car Pool Info: Our car pool will be meeting a new location for this hike, so please be aware that we will not be meeting alongside Broad Ripple High School. Instead, we'll meet along the west side of Bishop Chatard High School, which is on the corner of Kessler Boulevard and Crittenden Avenue, at 5885 Crittenden Avenue. The parking along the street is free on Saturdays. We'll meet on the sidewalk in front of the school and leave at 12pm. Please be on time.
