Clifty Falls State Park
If you're interested in steep hills, lengthy trails, and views of waterfalls, then this is the hike for you. We'll plan to do about 4 1/2 hours at this state park we haven't been to in over a year and we'll be covering a large portion of the park, so be prepared for a bit of a workout.
Admission to the park is $5 per vehicle.
Car Pool Info: For anyone interested, at 11am a car pool will be leaving from the west side of Broad Ripple High School (1115 Broad Ripple Avenue) in the free parking spots along Compton Street just south of Broad Ripple Avenue (this is not a parking lot; we park on the street and gather on the sidewalk under the tree near the cement bench). The best places to park are directly beside the high school between Broad Ripple Avenue and 62nd Street. These spots are free on Saturdays and are usually wide open when we meet for the car pool. Please be on time!
For anyone who would prefer to meet us at the park, we'll meet at the Clifty Inn parking lot at around 1:30pm. Just look for the crowd of us.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources web page for Clifty Falls is located
here, and a map of the park can be found on the page. Just click "Maps" and then "Property Map."
Also, as many of you know, I haven't been scheduling dinners afterwards since we've been having such large groups attend the hikes. As far as dinner goes for this hike, I'm not planning on getting a reservation for the entire group, but dinner afterwards is in the works. I'll post more info on this later, so anyone attending the Broad Ripple car pool should plan on sticking around for dinner and others are welcome to join us. We'll either eat at the restaurant at the Inn or go into Madison.
