Hike @ Brown County

The month of October wouldn't be right without a trip to Brown County, and for this event we'll be hiking trails ranging from moderate to rugged. We'll definitely be seeing some hills and possibly some wooden stairs on this hike, and we'll plan to cover between 5 and 6 miles all total. The trails we'll be tackling will be 4, 5, 7, and 8, so everyone should be prepared for a good day's hike.

Admission to the park is $5 per vehicle.

Car Pool Info: For anyone interested, our usual north-side car pool will be meeting at the west side of Broad Ripple High School (1115 Broad Ripple Avenue) in the free parking spots along Compton Street just south of Broad Ripple Avenue (this is not a parking lot--we park on the street and usually gather on the sidewalk under the tree near the cement bench). We'll be leaving at 12pm. The best places to park are directly beside the high school between Broad Ripple Avenue and 62nd Street. Please be on time and arrive ready to go.

For anyone who would like to meet us there, we'll be meeting at the parking lot northwest of Ogle Lake. A map of the park is located at the Indiana DNR website here.

Our after-hike dinner will be happening at the Irish Lion in Bloomington.

Please Note:

Car pool at 12pm

Hike at 2pm

Trails: Moderate to rugged

Length of hike: 3 to 3.5 hours, approx. 5-6 miles

See you on Saturday,

Michael

April and I may arrive a bit late. Which trail do you plan to head out on, and which direction?

Are there any southsiders interested in carpooling? If so, let me know.
