Very Difficult Hike

Please be in hiking shape and have hiking experience. My groups tend to spread out so even though I don't want you to be alone on the trail it may happen. The forecast is for partly sunny but please be prepared for all weather conditions. I hiked this last year but had to turn back due to losing the trail in the snow. The trail is snow free now.

Rugged and spectacular-yes. Gothic, perhaps, for this stark and mysterious basin harbors hidden tarns and disappearing waterways and is surrounded by spiraling peaks. A difficult hike on steep and rocky terrain, Gothic Basin with all its rich beauty can't keep hikers away; just as it couldn't keep miners away a century ago with its lure of riches. It was those hardy folk who built this path. It has been upgraded since-somewhat. The splendor of the basin, however, can't be improved one bit. Past glaciers and the agents of erosion have left it pretty darn near to perfect.

Foggy is a starkly beautiful alpine lake. Scout the nooks and knolls surrounding it. However, while this area is indeed a harsh environment, it is also fragile. Meadows can't withstand a constant onslaught of boots. Stick to ledge and rock in your wanderings as you're enjoying this wild landscape.

I just joined your group today and obviously I'm too late for this hike, but would LOVE to do it if you decide to schedule it again. It has been on my list! PS I live in Bothell and have a small 4-wheel drive that would take 4 people comfortably.

I only got 3 hours of sleep and just don't think I should try this hike on 3 hours of sleep.

Sorry. I actually saw that before, but had forgotten and from reading the directions I thought maybe we were meeting at the trail head or close to it. I live up north, but I can meet down in Canyon Park.

Rob are you allowing dogs on this hike. If not I will have to cancel out looking to hike with my dog this weekend. I can take two people in my car.

This sounds really interesting but unfortunately I won't be able to make it as my weekend is booked already. Thank you.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
