Hometown: Fagaras, Romania

My favorite hike... It must be an original path, with a breath-taking bellevue. At the beginning a cool and deep forest, where you hear only the rustling of the leaves in the wind and the birds symphony. Almost flat at the beginning, it should warm you up gradually. It will continue after with a hard part, that will force you to exceed your own limits. That means also that the forest is gone and only the stones and the wind are now your friends. At the end of this big effort, it should keep you breathless with an unreal panorama - that gives you the impression of stepping into another world. And a strong feeling that you are lost into the wild will quickly guide you back. And once you arrive home, you wonder if it was real or only just another dream (and what a dream, you are so tired). Such a hike, from a village Breaza, near Fagaras, to the Urlea peak counts about 1900m (6000 feet) level difference and requires 12 hours.
Well, I act opposite to the normal way (something similar to the expression: "Cart draws the horse").
My home town, Fagaras, is in the center of Romania, where I also followed the college. After the computer science bachelor in Bucharest, I continued with a master at EPFL (Switzerland). In the meantime, I got a 6 months internship at Microsoft.
