Hi there. Just moved to Seattle from Boston (coast-to-coast). I enjoy 2-3 hour hikes with moderate elevation (500-1000 ft) and I am looking to try something more challenging.
I once spent 2 nights with a Sadhu (holy man) in Dodital in the Himalayas. He had an entire tree in his 1-room hut. He burned the tree to keep warm. It took 3 months for the tree to burn completely.
Play tennis, watch movies, hang out with friends.
I just wanted to let you know that I started a new pickleball style tennis group to make games shorter but faster paced, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in trying it out? You get only one serve, you use singles lines for doubles (half court for singles), and you play to 11. The tighter court definitely helps develop your accuracy and makes for longer rallies which spells more fun! It's at www.meetup.com/seattlepickletennis. Hope to see you out on the courts!
Hello Maddunr and welcome to the Seattle Green Lake Running Group! I just started running in January and I certainly couldn't manage 6 miles back then but the group has been great in helping me along. We've got excellent groups for you to try in the morning or evening and you should be able to find someone to run with. Check it out on the calendar or email me any questions you have. See you soon!
