Total distance: 12.5 miles
Elevation gain: 4500 feet
Highest point: 5720 feet (Coldwater Peak)

This is a ridge hike that offers great views of St. Helens. We’ll do a semi-loop with a short car-shuttle: start at South Coldwater trailhead, head up the ridge, go up Coldwater Peak above St. Helens Lake, and take the boundary trail back to the Johnston Ridge Observatory.

This is a long-distance, strenuous hike. It will be an all-day event, and we’ll be back late.
