I'm seeing so many remove me from the list requests to Muzammils Alaska
spam that I thought I'd bridefly explain how meetup email works.

The person administering the group can set it so that no one can message
the whole group - that's what stopped Muzammiils email in at least one
other group, seemed like he was trying to email every outdoor group in
Seattle, over the course of a few minutes.

The person creating the email can select whether replies go to them or
replies go to the whole group when they create the message.

Contrary to popular belief reply in your email does not go to the person
that sent the email, it goes to whatever the "replyto" command in the
email says it goes to. This chain even though I did a reply to christina's
email, goes to [address removed], which is everyone and not just to
Christina.

What can you do?

Go to your meetup settings and select "only allow emails from organizers"
this way you still get event notifications.

or

send all messages in a daily digest - however,  this may give you event
notifications after an event is full.

or

set you email spam filter to delete this thread

or

contact Jewel and volunteer to be the group spam police, all the messages
can be sent to one person for review, that's what I did in several of my
groups, stops this stuff quickly, but adds work to my plate.

or

ignore the thread and it will die.

or

ask to be removed from the thread and since it was set up specifically to
include you, you'll get buried with more remove me requests

or

flag Muzammil <[address removed]> as a spam source and gmail will suspend
his account so he won't be able to do this again.
