Fun Fitness Hike On Mt. Ellinor (not to summit)

I have been hiking from Big Creek Campground (which is the very bottom of Mt Ellinor) up to about 3000 to 3500 ft in elevation. Depending on how I feel. The starting point is at 800 ft. elevation.

I do this about once a week on Thursdays or Fridays, depending on my work schedule.

If you would like to join me please do.

No passes are required and I will drive. I have room for three.

It's just a one hour or so drive from Oly.

Round trip hiking can be from 8 to 10 miles, and from 2000 to 3000 feet in elevation gain.

A great workout on the bottom of Mt. Ellinor, not nearly as steep as the top half, of which we will be in shape for at a later date. :-)

Fantastic! Wonderful! Super group of people--thanks to all of you for such a great time. Tanya, you are so fun to be with! But then, so was everyone on the hike.

The day started out a bit chilly, but the sun soon came out and it turned into a great day for hiking ! A very friendly and energetic group of hikers. We managed to get in about 9 or so miles (round trip) with 2600 ft. of elevation gain. A good workout indeed. Thank you all for coming.

Holli, haven't heard back from you. We will stop by Wal Mart to see if you are there at about 9:30 AM.

Wish I had the day off to go with you. I wanted to do this before the weather turns. Have fun.

Holli, will we be picking you up at the usual spot in Shelton?

    October 9, 2012

  • Alan P.

No Holli, we will not be doing the loop. We'll be going straight up the mountain to about 3500 ft. in elevation. And then back the same way.
