Sand Point Overlook hike including Big Slide Trail and White Lagoon

A hike deep into Nisene Parks including overview of Monterey Bay and White Lagoon.

We will carpool from the entrance.   Bring state parks pass if you have one.

Hike is 13  miles with 1500 feet climb. This is an advanced hike. We will travel on the West Ridge trail including Sand Point Overlook , then the Big Slide Trail including White Lagoon, and then the Aptos Creek Trail ending with the Aptos Creek Fire Rd. Lunch at Sand Point Overlook or White Lagoon.  Since the winter gate is still open we can  connect up with the West Ridge trail via the Loma Prieta grade, Ridge Connection, and Big Stump Gap Trail.

This hide has become my favorite in Nisene Marks. Beautiful, challenging. A great hike with great people. Thanks, Rene.

My apologies for having to say no to this wonderful hike. My out of town guests are arriving much earlier than I expected. Thanks Rene -- look forward to many more hikes with you in 2014.

Sorry to pull out at the 11th hour, Rene'. I woke this morning with a virus and am not winning the battle at the moment. Looking forward to seeing you next Friday!
