Meet at 9:30 in front of Nisene Marks. 20 mile bike ride starting on Aptos Creek Road and stops at Aptos creektrail trailhead and Sand Point. From there we head towards Hinkley Basin Fire Road and then Olive Springs Road and then Soquel-San Jose Road to Soquel. Lunch will be at Sawasdi Thai Cusine or maybe Carpos if people prefer. From there we bike back to Nisene Marks entrance or ride the bus.
The first half of the ride has serious up hills and there are serious downhills in the 2nd half. Some of this definitely involves walking your bike. There are also a few little creeks to cross. The route is mostly in Nisene Forest and other special areas. The only contact with cars is on Soquel-San Jose road where there is a bike lane and a fun downhill ride.
This ride will be limited to 8 people. We'll go at a relaxed pace and endeavor to stay together.
Hybrid bike is ideal but mountain bike also works. Minimum of one quart water or more if it is warm. Helmet, cool clothing, bike lock, first aid kit, bike repair kit recommended.
Terms and conditions on the pages tab. This is a highly risky activity and we will be in an isolated area.
