We will be meeting in the parking lot at the Waddell Creek Beach, north of Davenport, and then hiking in towards Berry Creek Falls. If it's rainy meet us in the parking lot at the Beach, anyway, and we can decide what to do. Adjourn for Breakfast at Davenport Roadhouse or Duarte's would be my preference if we are really going to get wet. Bring raingear - rainpants, rain jacket, rain hat, rain boots if you have them so that we have options. We'll take a group conscience and decide. This is one of my favorite places so really suitable for Valentine's Day. Let's hike as far as we can. Hopefully up to the falls. Although it will be slippery as it's really wet right now. So we'll have to see about that. It might be 12 or 13 miles if we go all the way. It's up and back if people want to do less. The usual caveats apply about telling me you are leaving and going back with someone else. Waddell is really beautiful this time of year. It's probably too early for the forget-me-nots, but they show up in droves in the springtime. The walk in along the ponds, and creek is really pretty.

Bring lunch, layers, snacks, lots of water - depending how hot the day is you might want the equivalent of a half gallon of milk of water. There is drinking water at the horse camp one mile in, but that's the last of it. There are a couple of portapotties along the way. This is a beautiful place - hope to see you there. Afterwards - let's eat something at Duarte's in Pescadero or Davenport Roadhouse. :)

I want to go & see the falls as I'm a waterfall junkie.

The weather started getting rough.... The tiny group was tough. Yes, we braved out the first hour of light rain and had a walk in the most beautiful forest you could imagine, stream, a few early year flowers, lots of moss and the 3 falls at the end of the trail were breath taking. For anyone who's never done this hike, you really missed out.
After the hike, we went to the road house for Valentine's dinner, had awesome food, great company and live music by a father and daughter team.

I don't remember having a better time!!! And it only got better from there. Smiles

The company was interesting and lovely. The walk was incredibly beautiful. What more could you ask for? Chris

I posted a topo map with profile and it claims we went about 9 miles one-way. I'm sorry that I misspelled some names.

13 miles (although GPS claims we went 18). Seeing the falls at this time of year was really wonderful! And I was nicely surprised that 3 people who separated from us early waited for the rest at the parking lot, and we all had a great dinner at The Davenport Roadhouse. Hey, this was a great hike and a great group.
