For those of you single people, Sierra Singles Loma Prieta Chapter is doing a hike in our neck of the woods on Sunday. I may be going to this, but Craig Keith, from the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Singles is leading it. It's free to attend, but the understanding is that you may attend a few events, but then you need to join the chapter in order to come to more.
I'll be posting an event for our group soon. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend -
:)

Subject: [Lpss_Fun_List] Fall Creek Hke
Sunday, May 25, 2008, Fall Creek Hike, 9:30,
Carpool #2
I've got a yen to see Fall Creek (the
other of my two favorite parks) again, where it might be a little cooler than
here, and would love to have you come with me for a hike in the towering
redwoods and other wonderful flora, with fast rushing creeks still
fast flowing I'm guessing, Also, there will be historical artifacts (an old
lime kiln and an equally old barrel mill). We'll go about 10 miles with
about 2000 feet of cumulative elevation gain at a reasonably
good pace. Bring lunch, plenty of liquid, and carpool money.
Layered clothing is suggested along with footwear that has
good tread. There are usually no restrooms open at the trailhead or
in the park, so prepare accordingly (there are some in Felton just before we get
to the trailhead and at the carpool point). We will meet at carpool point
#2, the Los Gatos Free Unlimited Parking Lot at 9:30 AM. Exit 17 in Los
Gatos on Saratoga Ave. (highway 9) headed west. Immediately after the
first light (University), turn right into the parking lot. If you wish,
you can meet us at the parking lot of the San Lorenzo Valley High School no
later than 10:10 AM. For those of you coming from the mid-peninsula, let's
try a self-carpool at carpool point #6, Page Mill Park 'n Ride at 9:00 AM
(sometimes it works! - but no guarantees). Leader: Craig Keith,
