If you are going to do this hike read all of the directions!!!
Ignore the map. The trailhead location is not at the location listed.
I do not charge for my hikes but I do accept donations to help cover my overhead. Thank you.
This is a limited number hike so if you are signed up then show up. And if you sign up don't back out on Saturday night!!!!
Directions to the Wadsworth and Hampden park-n-ride: Unless it is totally inconvenient for you please show up at the PnR. We have to work out logistics for this hike. We have to leave some vehicles at the termination of the hike. It's a here to there hike.
From Wadsworth Blvd. & Hampden, continue south on Wadsworth Blvd. to W. Jefferson Ave. Right on W. Jefferson Ave., into park-n-Ride. If you are going West on 285 (Hampden) take the Wadsworth exit. Turn left at the stoplight. Go one block and turn right. The PnR will be on your right. We will leave from the park-n-ride at 7:30
Directions to the coming out place (the Obyss trailhead): On US 285 after you enter the foothills drive 40 miles (a ways past Bailey) to the little 'town' (two buildings but plenty of BBQ pork) of Grant. Turn right onto the Guanilla Pass road. Drive five miles to the Abyss Lake trailhead. It's just before the Burning Bear CG. We need to leave some vehicles here for when we get back to here.
Directions to the trailhead. Drive the Guanilla Pass road all the way up into the pass. The Rosalie trail starts there. There are bathrooms there but there will be lots of cars and people also. We won't see many of them. They are all climbing Bierstate.
