I have had a few people request to go up and hike Staunton Park. I did this trail back in the summer after the park first opened up. It's a Nice hike and has some great views of the area. I'm sure in winter this place looks awesome!!!
Since it has been snowing please bring traction gear. I will check later on in the week to see if snow shoes will be necessary. We will head up the Mason creek trail till it intersects the Old Mill Trail. Take that to Staunton Ranch trail back to the parking lot
Take US Highway 285 south to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. Turn north on Elk Creek Road and follow the signs 1.5 miles to the park entrance.
For those interested in Car pooling lets meet up at the Fort Restaurant(19192 Colorado 8, Morrison (if you are not familiar where this is please Google the directions) we will leave here at 8 am
