Mt. Galbraith

  • Sep 30, 2012 · 8:30 AM

I have to be back but still want a nice quick Sunday morning hike!

Please meet at the PNR 44th and Ward Road, since there is such limited parking at the TH.

Directions to the trailhead: From the intersection of 93 and 58 West of Golden go North on 93 about two miles. Turn left onto Golden Gate Canyon Road. It's well maked and there is a stoplight there. Go about 1.5 miles up this road to the parking area on your left.

The hike: This hike is about 4.2 miles with an elevation gain of about 600 ft. The trail climbs up onto a small mesa and then circles around the top of it offering great views most of the way around.

See you then.

If there is a waiting list for the event. Do not change your RSVP from "YES" to "NO" hours from the event. I will mark you as a "no show".

If you "no show" on one of my events, you will not get preferential attendance on the next event that you "intend" to attend. I keep track of attendance and if you "no show" three times: You will be removed from the group. This is fun and free resource with the intent to meet other great people, use it responsibly.

In my event descriptions, there is a lot of information: Please read it. If then, I missed something, you cannot find it on Google, contact me.

I would like to post something philosophical here: In our culture it is common to treat people people who serve us like dirt. Regardless of whether this should be questioned as a principle, we should realize that those who volunteer to provide fun for the rest of us do not owe us anything. They are doing us a favor and we should act accordingly. If you are on Meetup I assume you are an adult with access to the Internet. Try to act like one.

I probably sound grouchy for saying this but I have been doing this for almost 3 years for several different meetup groups. 70% of the questions are found in my write ups. 20% are stupid questions. 10% are legit and I call those people and surrender all my knowledge, insight and connections. All of this I do because I love hiking and sharing. I don't get paid for any of it. I ask that you meet me half way, by reading the write up and being responsible for your own due diligence. Thank you to everyone who does that.

It amazes me that even though I tell people, to read the writeup, then try Google, and it you cannot then find the information, to contact me. Go to Google Maps and type "44th and Ward" I bet you'll find an answer.

Brent, you can thank our fearless leader Kimmy for showing me that. :)

I am 100% behind Kimmy on this. Just find the bloody place on your own and don't waste her time!

I read the write-up, and googled the address, otherwise I would not have contacted you.

I doubt that. The 1st and 2nd result on Google tells you where it is.
