Ok it's about time I get back out on the trail so we are going to take a moderate hike this time out.

a little about this hike:

Deer Mountain caps a massive, divisive ridge between Beaver Meadows (south), and Horseshoe Park (northwest). This relatively short hike follows a well-maintained trail through ponderosa parks, aspen stands, and sub alpine forests to the summit, which rises just above all other points on the ridge.

The trail's southern exposure frees it of snow longer than many others in the Park, extending accessibility from late spring to early winter. Visitors will enjoy ecological diversity and panoramic views that include some of Rocky Mountain National Park's most iconic summits, meadows, and geological features.

Directions to Trailhead The Deer Ridge Junction Trailhead is located 3.05 miles west of the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station along Trail Ridge Road (Highway 36). The trailhead is located on the north side of the road at the Trail Ridge Road - Highway 34 split. There is no designated lot, but roadside parking is permitted. Parking is limited.

for those interested in car pooling We will meet at the 88th and Sheridan pnr on the WEST side of hwy 36 not at the parking garage the basic address for this pnr is 5201 w 88 ave Westminster. We will leave the PNR at 8:30 Sharp

If you sign up - show up! My hikes are posted well in advance for your schedule. I plan to take attendance. If you decide not to go, you must cancel the Friday prior to the scheduled hike, or you will be considered a "no show." this gives the people on the wait list time to be notified that they are now attending. Three strikes and you are out.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
