It's the day after Chris Stel's birthday!!
We MIGHT have enough snow for shoeing. Keep watching....
Meet at Wooly Mammoth Section GG at 9:00 AM
Directions to the trailhead: Just past the Eisenhour tunnel on I-70 West of town turn right. There is a really big parking lot there. There are signs telling you where to park if you are hiking. I'll show you where the trail begins. This trail has nothing to do with Ft. Collins.
The hike: The trail gradually climbs up the ridge on the right. Coon Hill is just west of the Continental Divide in Northern Colorado. Coon Hill is less than 1 mile northwest of the west end of the Eisenhower Tunnel of Interstate 70. It is the highest peak in the Williams Fork Mountains. The South Ridge route is second class and is 2 miles roundtrip with 1217 vertical feet of elevation gain.
So ON MY HIKES, this is my policy:
Do not change your RSVP from "YES" to "NO" hours from the event. If you change your RSVP within 24 hours of the event, I will mark you as a "no show". If you "no show" on one of my hikes, you will not get preferential attendance on the next event that you "intend" to attend.
In my event descriptions, there is a lot of information: Please read it! If then, I missed something, you cannot find it on Google, contact me. On the 14er trips, I ask that you contact me. If you do not contact me, I will change your RSVP. On high altitude, I will not hike with someone where I do not know their ability, it is not safe. Other groups, you sign legal waivers, here I ask for a phone call.
Questions? Text, email or call me.
