While on our backpacking trip up in Wyoming last week we found a really nice Marmot sleeping bag in a stuff sack near one of our campsites. We talked about what to do about it. Leave it? It may just lay there and get ruined by rain. That wouldn't do anybody any good. And what are the chances of the owner coming back from God knows where to get it?
Take it and keep it? Not an option without trying to find the owner. We took it- Mike carried it- and left notes where the bag was and at our campsite. Mike planned to anounce it on Craig's List.
Mike got an email yesterday from the owner. He lives near Salt Lake. He sent Mike the money for shipping plus a bit more. Mike will send him his bag tomorrow. The guy was very thankful.
My old boss used to say, "do right and it will always come back to you". I believe it.

Camaraderie. Conversation. Fresh Air & Exercise
Join us for an opportunity to meet new people while getting outdoors. Kids are welcome. Fido too on his/her leash where allowed. We usually stick fairly close to Denver with hikes offering great Colorado scenery and views. You will sometimes get to see big horn sheep (like on the Quandary climb), hawks soaring overhead (like from dinosaur Ridge) , wildflowers in the spring, and songbirds in the forest. We usually stop off for lunch on the way home.
We have different hikes. We do from easy to moderate hikes in the foothills with 300 to 600 feet elevation gain to more challenging hikes higher up in the mountains. Decent trail shoes or boots are recommended along with some extra clothing, a snack and some water.
When we have a larger group we usually split it into two groups going opposite ways.
Please assess each the outing based on your abilities, gear and physical conditioning. Same for the kids if they plan to come along. Join the group and We'll email you the hike details, directions to the park-n-ride we're using and directions to the trailhead each week so you can make your plans.
