What: Climb Chief Mountain.

When: Saturday, October 16,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Ward Road Park-n-Ride
I-70 and Ward Road
Denver, CO 80206

The locatioin listed is that of the Ward Road park-n-ride. It is not the trailhead.

This may be out last high 'climb' of this summer...and we'll get to see if there is any SNOW up there yet.

Directions to the park-n-ride: From 44th Ave. & Ward Rd., continue north on Ward Rd. approximately .22 miles, left into the park-n-Ride. We will plan to leave this park-n-ride at 9:00 am.

Directions to the trailhead: Take I-70 west about 8 miles from the metro area to the El Rancho exit (exit #252). Turn left and follow Colo. 74 toward Evergreen. Go 2.5 miles and bear right onto Colo 103. Go 12.5 miles to a pull-off lot on the right side of the road. The trailhead is across the road blazed with marker #290.

The hike(climb):This is a bit of a climb. 3.2 miles round trip with 1000 ft elevation gain. We will plan to start this hike at 10:00 am.
