Announcing a new Meetup for Weekend Hikers...Plus!

What: Climb Twin Sisters on Saturday

When: Saturday, December 11,[masked]:30 AM

Where: Rocky Mtn. Nat. Park
Larimer Co.
Denver, CO 80206

The address is that of the Park. It is not the trailhead.

IF you are going to meet at Dry Creek let me know. We may chose another place to meet.
Folks this outing will take most of the day. I don't know how much snow we'll find up there. I'm going to take my Microspikes but no snowshoes.

Dry Creek Station
Directions to the Dry Creek park-n-ride: From I-25 and E Dry Creek Rd., head west on E Dry Creek Rd to the light at S Chester St. Be in the far left lane. Make a u-turn at the light. Now heading east get into the far right lane. In maybe 100 yards the lane veers off for a right hand turn. Now take the left lane that turns up into the park-n-ride. We’ll leave from this park-n-ride at 8:00. Please be on time!!!!

Directions to the trailhead:
To reach the newer Twin Sisters Trail, follow Highway 36 through Boulder and into Lyons. In Lyons turn left onto Highway 7 and follow it to the Lily Lake area, between mile posts 6 and 7. Turn east at the Lily Lake Visitor Center (across the highway from Lily Lake). Bypass the visitor center and continue on a gravel road as it turns south and heads uphill. After about 0.4 miles, this road deadends at the trailhead. Parking is available along the side of the road on one side only.

The hike: Located within Rocky Mountain National Park, the 3.7 mile Twin Sisters Peak Trail climbs 2,338' to an elevation of 11,428'. Twin Sisters Peak Trail is rated moderate and offers sweeping vistas in all directions. We'll start this hike around 9:30
