Meeting Description: Wildflower Hike
West Pawnee Butte: Pawnee National Grassland is all otherworldly, primallalld with
remarkable wildflowers, such as this Rocky Moulltaill locoweed,
ill late Mayor early JUlie.
Wildflower alert: Interesring narive wildflowers
include prickly gilia, silky marred pea, and sand dock.
Trail Rating: easy
Trail Length: 4 miles out and back.
Location: Pawnee Nat. Grassland
Elevation: 5420 down to 5200
Bloom Seas: May to June
Peak Bloom: Late May to Early June
Directions: From Denver, take 1-25north to highway 14.Go east 37 miles
to Briggsdale. Turn left on County Road 77. go 15miles. and
then turn right on Road 120for 6 miles to Grover. Turn right
on Road 390. go 6 miles. and take a left on Road 112.At the
sign marked Pawnee Buttes. turn right and follow the signs
to the trailhead.
