"For very experienced and conditioned hikers only!

I'm part of a group of 3 and we have 2 extra permits available for the hike. If you are an advanced hiker and would like to join us please rsvp and if there are more than 2 people interested I'll do a lottery on Wednesday the 19th. The two winners will be asked to paypal me the cost of the permit fee ($20 each) to guarantee their spots.

It's an extremely strenuous hike it's going to be moderately paced as our goal is to reach the summit in 7 hours. you can read about the hike here: http://www.dayhiker.com/directory/MtWhitney.htm

The hike starts at the Whitney portal campground at 4am.

I'm sure there is a brave soul among you to join me for this epic hike:)
If you have any questions feel free to post them!"

There aren't enough stars to rate how great the preparation, the trip, and the actual summiting of Mt. Whitney was. Thank you so much Anna for helping create a lifetime experience for those of us lucky enought to be there with you!

Wonderful company, perfect weather, no mosquitos.. There was no possibility anything could go wrong - and everything went better than expected! Thank you Glenda for making this trip a very special and memorable experience! :)

    Hi Anna,
What is your plan for altitude acclimation... I ran at 7000 feet two weeks ago.. but Clouds Rest has been my highest elevation day hike...
    Cheers,
    Glenda

Hi Anna. My question is the same as the others. One day hike?
I was there last Oct, and still haven't seen the first (or last) 4 miles or so in daylight...

Yes, one day. It's going to be moderately paced as we're planning on summiting before midday.

Are you planning to leave from the Bay Area and when? Will you overnight in Tuolomna or Mammoth to acclimate?

I'm going to leave from home but not sure when yet, it'll depend on the two other people that are in my group already. We're planning to spend a couple of nights near Mammoth.

Hi Anna, thanks for the invite, but I am planning on summiting it in one day in Sept. I was unsuccessful in the lottery, but able to get two permits in Sept. I look forward to hearing about it.

Wondering the same as Michael. That date is the 4th anniversary of my submitting Whitney! I did thee 14's in 3 days. Since then I've wanted to do it in one day, sans packs.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
