Sunday, May 18 is the opening day of South Pacific. If you've been hiking around the mountain, you may have seen set building and this Sunday's weather is PERFECT (translation - cool - you can really cook in the theater on warm days). We arrive at Rock Springs at practically the crack of dawn and run in to set our blanket down in our favorite spot. Then we return to Rock Springs to start hiking - about 4 hours. One of our small group is an expert on Mt. Tam and knows some very cool trails.
We return to the theater around 12 or 12:30 for lunch and the pre-show. Then the show (always a wonderful musical) starts around 2. If you're interested in joining us, we need to know FOR SURE because we're reserving space in a very desirable section that we have to arrive early to get. One of our group is probably coming to Mountain Home around 9 and hiking more gently up to Rock Springs arriving about 10. I will be starting from Rock Springs at around 7:45. You can meet us at 7:45 for a 4+ hour brisk and steady hike or meet us at the theatre at around 12:30. In order to coordinate, we need cell phone connection so we can tell you exactly where the blanket is. It is also possible (but not certain that we can coordinate to meet you at Rock Springs at about 10 to show you where we will be sitting and then you can hike with us for just a couple of hours.
Tickets are $35 to $40 and the best way is to get them on line: MountainPlay.org
Because this is a coordination effort, the best thing to do, besides indicating your interest on the Meet up site is to EMAIL me directly: [masked]
