Elevations: 9,800'-11,300'
Gain: ~1600 ft.

Hike Description
Once again, I call upon the Goatheads to help decide where to go. Once possibility is the attempt from last time.  I know another way to get to the same overlook that requires some map reading ability.

Expect to be back around 12-12:30 P.M.

The hike will be run in a truly People's Democratic Goat-Head hike fashion. Therefore this hike is only open to Goat-Head regulars, or people Dave Gold has cleared. If you have a question, please contact Dave Gold [masked]), or attend the alternate Wednesday Morning Hike.

Car Poolers should contribute $1/10 miles to drivers for this hike.

What to bring:

Sturdy hiking boots or shoes with good tread (plus traction devices).

Use of trekking poles always recommended.

As always any type of weather is possible. It could rain, hail, snow or be sunny. Be prepared for any type of weather! Bring layers, extra clothing, and water resistant outer wear in case of snow.

water for a 4 hour hike

Lunch (snacks)

Meeting Place:
We will meet in the back parking lot of Fort Marcy.  This is off Murales Road near Old Taos Highway. Try to park near the entrance so we can find each other. If you are running late or your plans change at the last minute, please call a fellow Goat-Head.

I loved it. Good pace, beautiful scenery, great group. By the way, I found my flashlight! It was hiding in a crevice (more like a crevass) in my camelbak.

Can't believe I'm bailing again. Pulled something in my leg mountain biking last night. Better let it heal. Next week!
