It was good to see so many new people. And the weather was great. Looking forward to next week at Laurier Park & Jeffrey's. Looks like the weather might be just as good.

I had some depressing news this morning and I think I may just sleep the afternoon away instead. Just kidding (about sleeping), but I have some other stuff I have to deal with so unfortunately I won't make it today. Have fun! Hope to see you all soon.

Sorry to miss this hike. I have an invitation that conflicts. Also, because of a trip to Cuba with my son, I will also miss the next two hikes. I look forward to hiking with the group again in April. Have a great hike!

With the warm weather, the trails are going to be very icy. Therefore metal ice grippers are highly recommended for your boots. If you don't have any, and you don't have time to go out and buy a pair (MEC, Campers Village, Totem Outfitters, and many other outdoor/hiking stores), then try to find a friend you can borrow from for this Sunday. Then go out and get a pair of your own, as you will need them for the next several weeks. This happens every spring.
... and don't forget to set your clock ahead; we'll be meeting at 1:15pm Daylight Saving Time.

I'm a first timer and not in great physical shape but I'd like to start. Can we set our own pace?

      Hi Patrick,
Welcome to the group. We don't walk super-fast, but it is important for everyone to stay with the group, so nobody gets lost. If "not in great physical shape" means that you can walk about 4 or 5 km in less than an hour, stop for coffee and conversation for about half an hour, and then walk back another 4 or 5 km, then you'll be OK.

Would anyone be able to share a ride to the ravine from the St. Albert or north Edmonton area?

I regret I have to miss the Sunday walk as I was looking forward to it. My granddaughter has a birthday party that day.
