4 on the 4th

Let's kick off 2014 with our friends at Columbus MetroParks.  We will meet at Blacklick Woods for the opener of the CMP Winter Hike Series.  We will meet an hour earlier and at a different starting location so parking and crowds won't be an issue.

We will meet at the Nature Center, and hike the lower loop of the multipurpose trail.  We will circle back to the Nature Center, then hike the nature trails (Buttonbush, Maple, Beech) for about 2 more miles.  We will finish at the picnic shelter with some hot chocolate.  Overall about 4 miles of hiking.  Who's with me?

Directions: From I-270, take the East Main Street/Reynoldsburg exit. Go east on Main Street to Brice Road and turn right. Take Brice Road to Livingston Avenue and turn left. Entrance is about 1.5 miles on the right.

Thought my cold would be a little better this morning based on yesterday but it's not so think I will try for the next one.

I'm worried about the windchill, but I should be able to make it. Just don't laugh if I'm wearing ski goggles ;)

Seems like the universe is not cooperating with me getting back out so I am sorry I am going to drop out of tomorrow's hike. Not quite prepared for my first winter hike in this bitter cold.

Pretty muddy there now, but if not too snowy, I'll be there
