Hi folks! Let's gather for a real spring-welcoming walk and talk, with a group of friendly folks whose mission is the same as our own -- get some fine exercise in good company in the increasingly green great outdoors.
WHERE: This Meetup will take place at West Woods Trails, which is a Guilford Land Trust preserve in Guilford, CT. Westwoods has many entrances, but we meet at the Sam Hill Road parking area.
DIRECTIONS: For this hike, we will meet at the Sam Hill Road entrance. From I-95 exit 57. Go east on Route 1 approximately one and a quarter mile. At the second stop light make a right hand turn onto River Street. When the road ends, turn right onto Route 146 (Water Street). Travel a little over a mile, and make a right hand turn onto Sam Hill Road just before the railroad bridge. The trail entrance with parking is immediately on your left.
If you know the area, you can also come the other way from Stony Creek-- drive East on 146, and Sam Hill Road is dead ahead after you go under the railroad bridge at the 90 degree turn by the marsh in Guilford.
$1-2 DONATION: Donations cover the annual cost of the website, ensuring that the group page remains active from year to year. Unlike free options for web-based organization of activities, the "meetup" service facilitates networking among an ever-growing number of participants, as opposed to a static or slow-growing one. For this benefit there is a cost; please keep this in mind when considering whether or not to contribute.
