Scottish Woods Trail Hike

Well since Michele talked me into a drive almost as long as you hike, hike and she is balking at the possibility of a little - I'll change it to a more local hike - still starting at the trail head at 8:15 am, but much shorter drive.

To get to the trail head - go NW on 360 from the southern crossing of 350 and Mopac, basically the bottom of the bow formed by Mopac and 360.  Take a right on Scottish Woods Trail,  go to the end and park.  It dead ends on Camp Craft and the trail head is less than a hundred yards to the right on Camp Craft.

We will hike for about 3 hours, ending at about 11:15.  Not sure what the hike will be, whether it will be easy or fun to cross, will determine based on how wet it is - probably mostly Creek side hike on the same side as the hill of life. We may hike upstream to the tree house, or down stream to twin falls or both.

Bring stories of hiking, camping or otherwise being in the woods particularly as a kid, or including how poorly you planned, ate burnt stuff, got soaked, slept on rocks. Our hike will be much more fun than the memories, but not necessarily as funny.

Optional other topics: games you like to play (board, card, video), games you actually have played that you never will again (Twister, spin the bottle, paintball), games you want to play but never have (zero gravity soccer ... ok, wondering what would be most in fun in zero g?).

Please be on time. We will try to meet at the trailhead at 8:15 AM.

If you are running late call Dave, (512)[masked]

Bring enough water for you and dogs if you bring them. Also good shoes, snacks if you need them.

What a great trail Dave. I am so grateful to you for introducing me to alternate routes. I like the new way down to the creek and the trail to the tree house was a delight. You rock! Great to see old friends and new.

Remember that Sunday is the Capital 10K and a lot of roads will be closed to cars. Important if you are coming from anywhere near/around downtown like me!

yes Michelle, mud hike doesn't sound so good -- but Dave, I hope you can still find a hike for Sunday morning. I was energized for days after last Sunday.

    ATTN DAVE: MUD HIKE ALERT!
I'm thinking, as much as I want to go back to McKinney Roughs I am not going for another grueling Mud Hike. One good mud hike story is enough. Will you watch the weather and change the hike if need be. Please?

hmm ... so it turns out that when you copy a meetup, edit it and re-post on a new date it keeps the same organizer, so not entirely sure that Michele is coming - but I suspect so, as she pushed for the location.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
