Another Barton Creek Hike, hoping there is water in some of the parts that have recently been dry. We will hike upstream. We will go to at least Sculpture Falls, and either stay on the creek level or do a short hill segment. Hike will be about 3 hours unless we collectively agree to go longer.
Coming south on Mopac - take the only left side exit to 360, then take a left into the office building complex at the first light (have to get over pretty quick).
What to talk about - who owns your data? who has your data? is it already in the hands of malicious folk.
More techie stuff to talk about. What's a spime? As GPS, smart phones (or Google glasses) bring augmented and a virtual overlay to our real world, how is it that we track real things in this mirror world, from when they start to when they end? Even hikers can do this with geo-caching, how for the city to do it for potholes?
How about non-techie stuff? I think a lot about how dogs look at the world - some things are obvious (mostly in the now), food oriented, gathering as much from smell as we do from sight - what's that like? How about dolphins what do they think about?
Any bets on how soon the North Korean regime will finally start to embrace the outside market world (rather than fall), will it fall then? I can't believe it can continue like it has, but so far my prediction have been wrong.
Lots of other things to talk about.
What else? bring water, water shoes if you want as long as you are comfortable hiking on land in them. If you are late, please call - because if we don't know that someone else is coming - we will leave on time. Dogs are welcome, can you imagine me hiking without Stokie?
