Please do not come on this unless you have footwear that allows you to hike much of the hike in water usually 6-12 inches deep, we will hike downstream, picking shallow enough stream segments to stay no deeper than most people's shorts. There will be places you can optionally swim if you are prepared to. We will go at least to at least Sculpture Falls, but stay either in the creek or at creek level. We should see some pretty segments that are not normally observable from the trails. Hike will be 2.5 to 3 hours unless we all agree we want to go longer.
This is not an official entrance to Barton Creek - but it is a well used one - no legal issues. This is the farthest upstream entrance I know water should be flowing well.
Parking below the bridge - should be lots of room at 7:00 AM, but if full park just past the golf course entrance on the other side and walk down.
From Mopac South entrance to 360 go past Scottish Woods and take a left onto Lost Creek, it is almost 3 miles through the neighborhood and there is a small access road on the right to go down to the right and below the bridge. If you pass the golf course entrance after the bridge and on the right - turn around and park on the left and walk down.
As always, we will wait if you are late, on your way and call - otherwise we will leave on time. This could be our last creek walk for the season.
Things to talk about - Are electromagnetism and/or natural nuclear fission part of what sustains magma at the center of the earth?
Do you do any meditation (other than hiking) - what does it do for you? When do you do it? How often?
Forget Google Glass, what do you want in your 'Body Area Network'? I just bought the Jawbone UP - because I can send feeds from it to software that will send tailored alerts or tell some other device to take action, not sure where I'm going with that.
Bring water, wear water shoes that you can hike on real trails in, mostly bring ideas, playfulness, imagination and other things that you can keep and share at the same time.
