Topics: So if there is advanced intelligent life out there, how could be we convince them that we have an sufficiently advanced civilization to be willing to talk to? The re-runs of 'I Love Lucy' that we have been broadcasting since the 1960, may be too diffuse to detect and even if they could be detected ... might not be the right kind of evidence. I'm thinking that maybe there are technologies that we haven't dreamed of whose use would be detectable (e.g. the ability to draw energy from dark matter or dark energy) might be the convincing item.

Xprize pulled the plug on its $10M Genomics competition? What would you like to see as goals for the next Xprize (e.g. where's my flying car?)? Nissan says they'll have self driving ones by 2020.
Researchers have created direct communication between two humans' brains, allowing a subject to play a video game with another subject's fingers. Once this can be done by remote control - I'm seeing a whole new set of crime drama plots.
My cell is (512)[masked] - call if you are running late, else we will leave from the trail head on time.
